Mullaglass Primary School RecoBox

Mullaglass Primary School in Newry aim to provide pupils with a high standard of education. They value the kind, caring, 'family' atmosphere they aim to create. They want their pupils to enjoy their time there and help them to create lots of wonderful memories, that will last a 'Lifetime'! With this in mind Paul Greenaway the principal was keen to create a sensory element to the school that the kids would not only remember but one that would help enhance the stem element of the curriculum.

With all of this in mind Paul was keen to install one of our RecoBoxes. We helped Paul through the awards for all process and were delighted to hear that his application had been accepted after only one try. Paul was excited and keen to get the RecoBox installed as soon as possible. After agreeing a location, we started work on the RecoBox. Paul decided he wanted the standard model with the addition of the Mud kitchen and decking. Within this Model we had the habitat panels to the front, the low-level green roof and the sensory panels to either end. The RecoBox will really bring a whole new learning experience to the children, bringing nature to life and allowing practical hands on teaching away from your standard classroom environment. We have found that teaching outside of the standard classroom environment stimulates and engages the children more. We certainly look forward to some feedback from Paul and the children and we wish them all the best with their RecoBox.
